What a great day of post-season action for the Juanita Ravens! Both the boys' and girls' teams move on next week, one weekend closer to state. On the bus ride home, it hit me how different my life has been these two years. God really is changing me. It's not easy, but this year is about embracing discomfort and raising my own standards professionally.
Some highlights:
Rosa Parks: In my second year as a Puma, I'm learning that with the right support and team, anything is possible for kids of all abilities. I'm back with a student I supported early last year, and I've seen so much growth in them and in me. I've also started classroom learning with an amazing kindergarten class and teacher. I have a long way to go, but I'll get there.
Juanita: In my second year coaching high school cross country, I'm an assistant and learning so much from the coaches and kids. The culture here is what I hope to bring someday as a head coach. I'm grateful to everyone helping me find my place in this special group.
Proud Coach moment - I have been working on strong low and hip forward thrusts… Every line of all 8 races nailed it!!
Bear Creek: I can't wait for the season to start in a few weeks. I attended the Washington State Girls High School Basketball conference, and there's nothing like being around passionate basketball nerds like me. I'll keep learning and praying to make an impact with this community.
I'm also working hard to finish my program coursework, and I'm grateful for all the grace as I ask questions and try new things. I make mistakes, but I jump back up and keep moving.
Thank you to everyone in these worlds who helps and challenges me to be better.
